  last friday, a woman i work with, who reminds me of scully from the x-files, asked me to hang out with her and her friends at a watering hole not that far from where we work.

  she and her friends get off roughly an hour before i get off, and considering the amount of work i had on my desk at the time, and the amount of time i wasted on here, i knew it'd would be a while before i caught up with them.

  so i told her i'll try, but i won't get off until roughly 6:30pm or later.

  Stop being such a JW dork and go out and have a good time. You're not being tempted by satan. You are just being ask out to have a little fun. It is obvious these people like you or they wouldn't ask you to go out with them. You have nothing to lose but your bogus pass into the JW Fantasy Kingdom..... oh, and read Steve Hassan books as leavingwt suggested. I've been out for decades and keep hearing read his books, reads his books. I finally am getting around reading one of the and think it would be very helpful for someone in your situation.

  Remember the goal he scored circling behind the net and bounced the puck off the defensemen into the net? I'm certain that was fully intentional

  I'm sure it was also. I remember him do crazy stuff like passing the the puck through an opponents legs and picking it up on the other side.

  I think you are right about Marty's stick. That was the turning point. What surprised me with that was that he was even was allowed to have that stick out there. The Kings should have been aware of what could happen. A team knowing that a player on the opposing team is using an illegal stick and not bringing it up till you need the call isn't a new issue. If they had read Dave "The Hammer" Schultz's autobiograph they would have been aware of this. I read his book several years before the 93 playoffs and in it he mention his coach in Philly doing doing the exact same thing Pat Burn's(RIP) did.

  Not too long after I left the Watchtower I attended an Episcopal Church that made their own whole wheat bread for the Eucharist. It was called Pompaii Bread. Appearantly the recipe went back to Popai It was very good. I still have the recipe somewhere.

  A Jdub who is completely under Watchtower mind control is able to label and dismiss any negative information about the Watchower immediately however if someone is starting to have doubts information like this could be helpful. If they find something like this they are more likely to read it than if someone gives it to them or sees them pick it up.

  Does anyone remember in the 1993 when the Kings were playing Toronto and were down by 3 games and a columnist in Toronto said Getzky was skating like he had a piano tied to his back? Gretzky answered back by playing up to his potential and the Kings won the series.

  The next round had the famous Patrick Roy wink. The Kings were coming on strong. At one point Roy made a huge save, he made eye contact with his opponent and winked at him. I remember thinking at the time this may be the turning point of the series. Roy was just so confident.

  I quit!

  I live in the LA area and have been a Kings fan for a long time so I have to go with the Kings. I'm also Ducks fan. They have a great starting line very good goalies but both goalies have some pretty serious health issues going into the playoffs so we'll have to see how that goes. I've always loved the Habs so it will be very easy for me to cheer for them if they wind up in the finals.

  I agree with the comments about Detroit. It is painful but I have to admit that I've seen them come back many times ruin someones fun.

  it these tough economic times many of us have looked back at the decisions we made concerning money with much dismay.

  the organization has cost many people 100's of thousands of dallors or more over the course of their life time.. 1. all the time and gas spent on knocking on doors.. 2. brothers that ripped you off in business.. 3. all the money i gave my exwifes dead beat relatives.. 4. making just minumum wage for two years of poineering.

  than going to bethel for four years making only $22 a month, 9 dallors of which went for subway tokens.

  Actually I'm a lot better off financialy because I left. When I left the Witnesses I knew didn't buy houses or save money because the end was near. I started thinking that this was stupid even before I left and started making changes.

  You mentioned helping dead beat relatives in the Witnesses. I was till helping them out after I left. There was and still is a lot of loser mentality in the Watchtower side of our family.

  How Old Were You When You First Became "Aware" ...

  ... of the opposite sex?.

  it was the summer of 1966; i was a few months shy of being 13; it happened on our church ground.. i was hurrying between two vehicles to get into the building, when someone blocked my way.. annoyed, i looked up to find this cute, cute guy looking at me appreciatively.. he asked my name.. i froze and blushed profusely, agitated and confused at the tingling feeling in my tummy.. i didn't bother to answer him, but turned in the opposite direction and rushed into the safety of the church.. i sat down beside my mother, took her fan and fanned myself furiously!.

  afterwards, i told an older sister about the incident.. she gave me an envious stare and chided me for being so doggone shy.. ah, memories .... syl.

  I guess started rather young. There was the girl next door when I was about 5. She was about the same age. I was devastated when the family moved away. Then I think it was shortly after she move there were the two black girls down the street (older women). They were probably around 7or 8 years old. Thinking back they were probably the only black family in the whole city at that time. I still have a picture of me going to church with them. I think it must have been taken on Easter Sunday. A few years later I took tap dancing and tumbling. The class was taught by a Chinese girl in here mid to late teens. My friends older sister. I really had the hots for her. I think that may have been the reason I took the class.

  I settled down as I got older.
